Star Trails photography
Quoted:In this Night Photography tutorial Patti Schulze gives you an alternate way to create star trail photographs. This technique, known as the stacking method, involves making a number of short exposures, and combining them using an action in Photoshop to create the illusion of one long exposure with long star trails. This method eliminates the need for using noise reduction and can dramatically reduce the amount of time needed in the field to create star trail photographs. Patti outlines the equipment, exposure, and Photoshop techniques needed to execute this wonderful Night Photography technique.

Re: Star Trails photography
This video is by jcmegabyte. Very nice!
Enjoy in full screen HD with the lights out for full effect!
Take a spectacular trip into space watching these real time-lapse images of the night sky! The video sequences are created using a recently-developed compositing technique, which adds individual still frames together, making residual light from previous frames continue on into subsequent frames, resulting in trails left by bright objects in the sky.
Many aircraft navigation lights and even a few meteors are captured in the 8000+ frames used to make this movie.
Cameras: Canon SX10-is, Canon S5-is
The soundtrack is new music from Technician, "Lunar Seas" (Alt-Rev Mix).
Individual clips now available on the JCMDIstockfootage channel for use in your own YouTube videos.
Enjoy the show!
