Would you use 3rd party battery?
Just curious about how you guys feel or are you using 3rd party batteries? I mean, 3rd party batteries like those made in China are so much cheaper than an original battery! The original battery normally will cost 3X or more than a 3rd party battery!
Is worth the money to get an original battery? Or get a 3rd party battery and risk your camera getting damaged by those 3rd party batteries.

Re: Would you use 3rd party battery?
Remember, a 3rd party battery cannot hold the charge and the number of charges for 3rd party batteries are definitely lower and worst than an original battery.

Re: Would you use 3rd party battery?
And another question is, will 3rd party batteries do any harm to the camera body?

Get a 2nd or 3rd hand original battery. Save cost also.

Re: Would you use 3rd party battery?
Seriously, I would opt to buy 3rd party battery, reason being that with the price of original battery, i can get 3 or more 3rd party batteries which I can use at my expenses and throw them away once their life span is up.
So what if they have shorter life span than an original battery? If original battery can last for 2 years and 3rd party battery can last for 1 year, with the money i can get 3 3rd party batteries, wouldn't i have 3 years of usage?
Just my way of comparison. May not be true.

I would go for 3rd party batteries too! I agreed! But the cons for the batteries is that it won't be able to show power bar on the latest model of DSLR nowadays.

I don't think so, otherwise they will be out of business by now. I mean, 3rd party batteries are selling like hotcakes for the past few years, and now CANON cannot take it so they implement chips into their batteries in the latest models so that 3rd party battery can't read power bar and other functions.
