I was waiting for my BMW Motorcycle dealership to open when I came acrodd this little fellow growing between the cracks of the sidewalk. I almost stepped on it as I explored the grounds around the building. I seldom go anywhere without a camera so it was that I was carrying my new Nikon S550 point & shoot. I popped it into macro mode, squatted down until the mushroom filled the frame & snapped away. The actual mushroom is only the diameter of a quarter. I was so pleased at the detail this little camera captured and quickly saved the photo in my "keeper" folder.

Since you brought it up the online reviews of this camera are terrible. I'd like to think the reviewers wre the problem not this excellent little camera with better resolution than my D40X.

Using Elements 7 I enhanced the sharpness. Mostly automatic stuff, brightness, contrast. I did darken the outside edges to draw attention to the brighter center subject. All very routine.

Routine but its really nice and really appreciate your sharing here.. Your landscapes are fantastic! I would love to go there some times!

I count my blessing every day for moving here 30 months ago. The scenery is everywhere. Right now we're at the beginning of our rainy season that can last 7-8 months. There's plenty to see and photograph even in the rain.
