To me, it is a very sensitive issue, sensor, once damaged or scratched, you can jolly well buy a new camera..

Oh no. That is the worst of the worst, spending double the money for one camera body, I can cry my heart out.

Woah! Do you know the root cause? And how did you manage to salvage it?

Re: Checking and cleaning sensor dust
The best way perhaps, go to service centre and have it clean for a small sum of money. I don't really encourage cleaning sensors on your own. It is way too risky to do it.

I'm very careful about changing lenses on my 5D. But having dust inside is inevitable. I think it's because of the static charge upon powering up the camera that attracts alot of dust specks. I don't clean my sensor. I merely use a strong blower to get rid of the dust.

I'll just leave it alone. I don't usually shoot in very high f-stop.

Same here. Feel super uncomfortable having dust or particles in camera.

Unless you are using Olympus cameras. Or Panasonic ones.
Re: Checking and cleaning sensor dust
Why? Olympus or Panasonic are special?

The only proven dust busters.

Shake off the dust on the sensor using a supersonic wave filter at ultra high frequency.
Re: Checking and cleaning sensor dust
Supersonic wave filter at ultra high frequency? Wow! Sounds very high tech.

Re: Checking and cleaning sensor dust
But still, I think there are still some stubborn dust right? Or is the frequency so strong that any dust can be removed literally?
