There is potential in #2. It would be better to give it a bit more punch in the colours and contrast.

No 2 pic is fantastic. Only the horizon is a bit at the center. The foreground needs to be cropped a bit and then the attention of the audience would be focused on the activities going on in the pic, dramatized further by the natural lighting of the sun, above.

well! i think u should ask alex to hand his 40D to u and then he can go get himself a 1D MKIV. hahahah....I can see your photography skills have improved eh!

2nd pic is fantastic. Composition wise, there is nothing wrong with having the horizon in the center. As this is an action pic, the shadows exemplified a lot of motion that added mood and excitment in the pic. So, horizon being in the center rule is to be applied sparingly.....hope u dun mind me commenting on that Saymell. Embarassed
